A company that grows herbs and produce and strives for a sustainable, organic approach to agriculture. Longtime organic farmers Larry Jacobs and Sandra Belin created Jacobs Farm, a successful organic farming operation that grows fresh, pesticide-free herbs for consumption. Additionally, the pair encountered a community of struggling, subsistence-level farmers in Mexico and created the Del Cabo cooperative as a collaboration between Jacobs Farm and growers in Mexico.
Starting with just a handful of families, Del Cabo now provides over 400 farming families with needed training in organic growing, harvesting, and handling, as well as start-up funds, farming technology, and consistent distribution channels—ensuring the best return for small-scale farms. It’s a great way to spread a sustainable message to new communities in need, and provide delicious produce for a wide range of markets.
