The University Of California Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) is a statewide network of University of California researchers and educators dedicated to the creation, development and application of knowledge in agricultural, natural and human resources.
It serves every Californian by conducting agricultural research and delivering the results right to the people who farm. Our scientists study nutrition and educate the public about eating wisely. We protect and study vast wildlands, find ways to conserve natural resources and advise landowners who are managing so much of California’s open spaces.
ANR’s professional staff of farm advisors and specialists work side-by-side with California farmers, searching for solutions to new problems, boosting crop production with precision pest control and fertilization practices and finding ways to protect food after harvest as it makes its way to market.

Kearney Agricultural Research and Extension Center is the University of California’s largest off-campus agricultural research facility.Since opening in 1962, Kearney has achieved international acclaim for leadership in the development of new fruit, nut, and grape varieties, innovative cultural and irrigation practices, pest and disease management techniques, and postharvest biology.
Vegetable Research and Information Center (VRIC)
VRIC’s mission is to foster appropriate research, collect and disseminate information relevant to consumers, growers and processors in the California vegetable industry and to continue its role as a leader and nationally-recognized source of research and information in support of the vegetable industry.
